Abbreviations:

 

TP – Third Party – the person/entity allegedly responsible for the damage

TPI  Third Party Insurer

TPA – Third Party Attorney/Adviser

TPD – Third Party driver

Ins – Insured

LOD – Letter of Demand: The initial correspondence sent to the Third Party, advising them of the amount, date of loss and reason for holding them liable

P/B – “Prokureursbrief”/Lawyers letter. A letter sent advising the Third Party that the matter has been handed over to the attorneys to proceed with litigation. If we receive no reaction on this letter, we will investigate the option of litigation

X6 – Excess paid by Insured

FTI – Final tax invoice

AOD – Acknowledgement of Debt.  An agreement reached with the Third Party to pay off the debt incurred by them through the accident

AR – Accident report/OB report
